Judge Roy Bean was not a "Judge", and there was nothing about him that would make him one. He was born around 1823 in Mason County, Kentucky. During the Civil War, he organized a group of men called The Free Rovers. This gang robbed land owners, settlers, and anyone else they could get supplies from. Judge Roy Bean died on March 16, 1903.
